AEP Blog #2

This week we learnt about nations and nationalities, the first we did was we identified countries via their outline, then we matched them to a world map, then we wrote sentences about where we were born, what is our nationality, and what language we speak.

The first activity was easy, compared to other activity this was the easiest activity I have had for the first half of the term. The second like the first was also easy just in miro I had some problems with the line we used that took a while to fix, aside from that nothing was really hard. The third was also easy but, the sticky note had a glitch for me therefore I use a shape and wrote inside it.

This week was easy and I hope we will study nations again.

What I did on the holiday

On Aug 27 which is on Friday, is a day where we will be moving to a new house. I still went to school and and do my lessons after school. At night, we did move to the new house. We move because this year we are planning to go back to Indonesia because my father work is almost over here.

On Saturday, It was the first day in our new house. It was smaller than the other one but it still looks beautiful. Despite it was a holiday, I joined a club from my Indonesia school called PMR (Palang Merah Remaja/ Red Cross Teen). One of the reasons why I decide to join that club was because I want new experience. Ever since the Covid there are no clubs anymore. Another reason is I want to be a doctor when I grow up, I can at least learn few things before I become a doctor.

Then we went back to our old house to get more things and cleaned it. By the end of the day it was very cleaned, because we were very tired with cleaning. We decided to just stay at home for the rest of the day. The next day we go to ur old house again around in the evening, and after that we will be going to Tagaytay but because the next day I have school for my Indonesia class, so I have to wake up early.

On Monday, which is National Heroes Day, I t was supposed to be a holiday but I still have my Indonesia class so I still have school. After finishing school, we decided to go to Tagaytay, We went to a new restaurant. The view is very good as well as the place but there was a lot of dogs.  I am really scared of dogs. So that was one of the downside of the restaurant. Another thing is that the bathroom was very dirty and smelly, not to mention some of the food was tasteless, so I didn't eat that much.

At home I eat meat buns because I didn't eat that much in the restaurant. And after that me and my brother went to bed, usually we played DOS and obviously my younger brother always win because he was better than me, then after playing we both fell asleep soundly.

AEP Blog #3

The listening was not hard nor easy, the youtube page sometimes kept on loading and loading, like once in the seatwork, I was taking notes for my answer when the video started to load which was annoying but nothing else do just wait. Then after 30 seconds of loading, it came back and all was well from that side of the seatwork.

The good thing I got out of the listening was improved listening skills which help with a lot of things, taking notes faster and little summarizing, while taking notes these skills improved because I am a lazy, person who won't just re-listening and keep on pausing just to take note I didn't pause many times which I thought was good.

End of the day I improved more than learned (unless you count improving still learning) because I already did listening many times before but never like this from youtube, it was a new experience which does show the difference between the schools, neither the less I improved an that is what really matters.

A new beginning

The first day of AEP we read the learning contract, It wasn't really hard to read the learning contract then we did a quiz about the learning contract. I got a perfect score in the quiz so I felt happy about my score. The next day we did the to do list, It was the most stressful thing of all in AEP. We have to log in into quite a lot of account, so It was stressful for me. Because we learned a new website which is typeshift and wordshake ever first minute of the class we will always played it but I don't like typeshift that much and so I like wordshake more

The first work that we have to do in AEP is we read about this article and we record it, after finishing we put it in padlet. While we did a record we also learn how to pronounce word that are hard. Personally, I know that my recording isn't the best but I still try my best to pronounce the word. We also put nice comments on our classmate work which I thing that their work is better than me. And yesterday we learned about how to go into the blogger website and we learned how to publish by writing, "Hi ms Disa". I was able to do it correctly, I was happy to be able to do it because I don't want to get left behind my friend.

And today we log into miro and tried to do a timeline on things that we did for the past things in AEP. But apparently since the internet is not cooperating with me, I have to get help from ms Disa. After we're done we did the real blog in the blog website which I think It's going to be challenging for me to do so but no worries I will still try my best on writing my blog.

Over all what I think about AEP is ver fun, It's interactive using a lot of diffrent websites such as miro, padlet, typeshift, and wordshake. What I'm planning to do is that is that I'm going to develog my writing skill since I'm not really good at writing but I hope after taking this class I will find it fun as well as easy to write my blog

AEP blog

A few weeks ago the school year started. It's crazy to think that we are already in grade 11, it's even crazier to think that soon we'll already be heading to college.

The first week of class wasn't too hard, it usually isn't since we normally just have an orientation and during classes we just introduce ourselves. Although, once the year started progressing, things started to ramp up. Some classes like statistics have been a little stressful because of the multiple assignments. Apart from statistics, I also find English class to be quite difficult, but that's nothing new.

Luckily, not all classes have been like this. Despite maths being well known as a laborious subject, the first weeks of it have been quite laid back. I do expect maths to get much more demanding later in the year, though. Regardless of the tiresome lessons, I'm still able to find plenty of time to relax and play games.

So far, Grade 11 has mostly been easygoing. I believe this will all change later in the year, although I'm not going to complain about that. I actually feel like it makes sense for Grade 11 to be a punishing year. I think like the hardships of Grade 11 should help prepare us for college, which will be beneficial for us. I just hope I can achieve high grades.

As for AEP, I admire the changes.

In my opinion, the changes have made the classes much more interactive, especially the Miro white board website. Now that we actually have to participate, I feel much more active during class. I also appreciate the reduced workload we have. Doing seatworks with a partner along with the reduced amount of blogs has definitely made a favorable impact on AEP.

With these changes, I am looking forward to another year of AEP.

For the past few weeks, I have been underperforming. I think the concept of the boards is good, though. That part I like about the class. I don't think there's anything I don't like about the class. I just give up easily when I'm doing vocab and I'm not sure if it's correct. I'm also pressured by my classmates cause I get worried if my answer is incorrect. It's just an insecurity of mine combined with my mindset that I've gotten while growing up. It's nothing to worry about, I'll deal with it myself. Anyways, overall, I think the class is fun. Words, am I right? I'll work harder and look forward to future classes.

This week in AEP we started to do scrabble first thing in the week as a relaxing thing. The previous week we learned about more business terms and from that we learned to collaborate once again through digital devices and learn more business terms .

AEP this week - A breath of fresh air

Moving back to FIS was at first just an impulsive thought I had after being under so much pressure in my previous school. Sooner enough, I decided to carry on with the plan, with the help of my parents of course. I think that adjusting to another school environment online would just be an unnecessary struggle I had to yet again go through, so I did what I think was best for me mentally, returning back to my comfort zone. I thought I'd join STEM so that I'll be able to have a choice in whether I want to work in a Science related field in the future or not. So far the feeling I have for the choice I've met is kind of regretful... but everything happens for a reason right? Though, I am still young and am never really going to be sure enough about what my future plans are, whether I like it or not kids my age are already forced to make a choice which will slightly narrow down our career paths. So here I am again, in FIS and of course that also means Miss Disa's AEP class. I am quite new to Blogger, as the last time I was in this class we did use WordPress, I do hope it's pretty similar though. I'm crossing my fingers for now, here goes nothing.

In the previous weeks of AEP we did most of our activities on Miro, navigating the website was quite hard at first but I think I get it a little better now. We used this board for all kinds of activities. We even have a little mouse box because of how disorganized we are, which is quite funny now that I think about it. On that one expansive board alone, we managed to study about all kinds of business and political phrases which I definitely plan on using in the near future, now that I actually know what they mean.

Now moving on to the present, it was quite a slow and relaxing class we had today. We all just played scrabble against each other, and I found that quite relaxing compared to the previous lessons we had. I think that a subtle break like this is always needed and I've learned to appreciate such a week even more, as lessons get harder, and times get busier. The scrabble game I had with Medo was quite fun. Most of the time I was just putting words together which I had to later on find the definition of. I also made a reference on one of our favourite shows, it just happened to be a really sad one, so as we remembered it, we immediately felt depressed.

Overall, it felt like a really short and light week of AEP. Though it was one of the most relaxing lesson I've had over the past few days, I'll still always look forward towards gaining new knowledge in the next AEP lessons.

And in general, all subjects included, I do feel like I've learnt a lot in just these few weeks, and that includes my time management. I think with all of these assignments given to us, I did learn how to limit my social media and game usage. Though I'm not saying I'm happy about our teachers constantly assigning things but I'm saying that I'll definitely learn a lesson or two from all of it.

〰 signing off, Ratih.

Back on Blogger

Hey You Hello GIF by Regal

It's been a while since I've typed something on blogger, but I'll fill you in on what's been going on with me for the past 5 weeks, from the beginning of the school day until this week.

11th grade…. I still can’t believe it myself it still looks as if I’m in 9th grade and transferred in 11th all of a sudden which even made me think that I left my brain during the junior year, but here I am attending STEM and struggling much as before. Actually, I was unable to attend the first day of orientation because I was still dazed and did not believe it was time to return to school. The first week was more of an introduction to everything that will happen in the coming weeks. Each class was slightly surprising so expect a lot of unexpected things; nevertheless, the good part was that we didn't need to introduce ourselves because we already knew everyone except for a few teachers and those new students. After the week ended I felt exhausted from staring at the screen so much that  I wanted to shut my eyes and sleep.

(Medo and I were both looking forward to AEP class, but Monday was orientation day, and we only meet once a week, which is highly disappointing.)

During the second and third weeks, I was already drained from the amount of work that had been given to us. And a lot of information that we need to process. At first, I thought I was fine and that I could handle a lot of things, but after another week passed, I began to question whether or not I had made the correct decision to go to the STEM department. Maybe, Yes? Maybe No?. (I still am questioning myself ) The thought of the Midterm exam approaching is causing me a lot of stress and anxiety, but I know I have to keep trying and push through it all. After all, we're only getting started, so who knows what will happen next time.

(We finally had AEP class, and it was extremely refreshing to attend to class, especially with Ms Disa's outfit, which was very formal yet classy, and her stylish pink hair, which was all flawless, as well as her terrific energy, which she always gives us 100%. With ms, There’s never a dull moment, which makes me wonder. Why do we only get together on Mondays?)

In the fourth and fifth weeks, I've noticed how easily tired I am after class, where I fall asleep almost immediately and then resume my schoolwork when I wake up. In terms of this week, we're halfway through quizzes in every subject and there are a few more things left to cover before the midterm exam, and more assessments are to be submitted and I need to get on with my notes or else.

(AEP class has gotten even better, especially with the interactive websites that we've been using. It's been a lot of fun and a bit of confusion at first because we weren't used to these sites, and we also need decent internet for these or you won't be able to see anything in Miro and its quite great that we’re learning some business and political terms at the same time.)

(PS I was also considering making a vlog instead of doing this, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I have decided to do it for the time being... I won't be able to do so this time, but hopefully next time. :)

  • ଘ(੭ ᐛ )━☆゚.*・。゚ Hello everyone welcome to my third blog!

(Drink a glass of water for every time I say or mention finish or end hahaha)

Today we started off with some typeshift which I, luckily, was able to finish within the five-minute time mark by 4 minutes yay~! I also managed to learn new words I was unfamiliar with from the game itself so I then went to search in the dictionary for such words and completed it off with some new vocabulary...

We then were all assigned a seatwork in which we had to fill out a form full of missing verbs of either present simple or continuous in which seemed like a conversation between two people named Sandy and George talking about sandy's mom's offer on giving George a ride by tomorrow morning which ended with George politely declining the offer and instead ended up helping Sandy pick out a topic for her history project which was pretty calming and relaxing to do and finish...

We also played some scrabble within the 30 minutes, but I and the person I was supposed to go against experienced some technical difficulties so we sadly ended up not being able to really play as much as planned..and at last finished this week's AEP off with going on miro and writing my exit ticket...

                                                                                                                                                             -Iara

well...

On a pleasant little kind note, Today's AEP was a rather calm and relaxing anti-stress period which I found lovely and I am once again looking forward to more of these fun AEP classes to come and go. That's it for this week's blog, I'd like to take this time to appreciate and thank you, lovely fellow readers, (or whoever that's reading this blog right here and now which is probably Miss Disa and if that is hello miss lol) for following me along with this fine blog journey and I wish you all nothing but a spectacular study week and wonderful days to come! bye-bye now~!

Shasmeen - Blog 3

Welcome to another AEP Blog! AEP this week was fairly relaxed, and I was able to keep up with the lessons even with a lot of technical issues.

First of all, I have to explain why none of my other blogs are published. I'm actually not sure why, but all I know is that sometimes I'm locked from editing or publishing my blogs if I close the tab and don't come back for a long period of time. I'm hoping that I'll be able to publish this one!

Okay, onto this week's classes. I had been able to wake up much earlier than usual, so I had quite a long time to prepare for class. This is somewhat a good thing for me, since I take a long time to fully wake up

Once the meet had been started, I joined quickly and went over to Typeshift. Most of my blogs (counting the ones from last year), mention that I enjoy playing Typeshift. Well, there was no difference today! I finished well enough at a minute and 53 seconds.

While typing in my time on the Google Sheets, Miss Disa started the lesson with our entrance ticket. I went over to Miro to see three sticky notes: on each one were "friend", "mate", and "partner". We were told to write down our understanding of each of the words under their respective sticky note. Me, Meral, and Chloe got to work immediately.

After we were all done writing our definitions, Miss Disa gave a more visual and in-depth explanation on each of the words. By drawing the relationships out, it surely was much easier for all of us to understand them. A friend is someone you are properly acquainted with, while a mate is someone you are much more casual and well acquainted with.

Now, we started talking about the definition of "partner". Miss Disa explained that partners are people one is in a romantic relationship with (or maybe the both of you are cowboys, who knows?). This is a convenient word, because it might be one is in the situation that they don't want to give too much information on their partner's background. It also may apply to gender neutral people, people who are not sure of their gender identity or are more like themselves by identifying as such.

I have a lot of online friends and a few real life friends who identify as non-binary (a more common term for gender neutral). One of them fluctuated between gender identities, too. I really appreciate that this topic was brought up by Miss Disa clearly and with good meaning.

We then started our assessments for the day. Like a few weeks ago, we had a matching activity for the topic words in the lesson. We all finished fast enough as we were familiar with this type of work. We read our answers out loud, and Miss went on to explain the differences between "estate" and "inheritance".

Before, I always thought that the two were interchangeable and meant the same thing, but that wasn't the case. Apparently, an estate is the all of the property, which includes money, furniture, pets, jewelry, and other worldly items being given to a person or group. Inheritance, on the other hand, is a portion of all possessions that is handed over to close family and friends.

After those two activities, our ten minute break gave us a good rest from the screen.

When the ten minutes were over, the next assessment was to read a paragraph on how parents should treat their adult children. I found the topic interesting and skimmed the text immediately. We were only given 30 seconds to read it, but I already started before I noticed the timer hadn't started, oops!

The timer dinged to signal the end of our allotted reading time, and Miss Disa hid the paragraph. We were instructed to write a short summary of the text. I finished mine quickly, and looked over at the others'. Once everyone was finished, Miss made corrections and suggestions as to how to make our summaries more precise. Mine was already very short, so I thought about adding something before deciding against it, to keep my interpretation clear.

At last, we had reached our last activity for the day. Miss allowed us to choose how we would like to do it using a poll. If you couldn't tell from my classmate's blogs, I was the one who chose the individual option. I chose the one I was most comfortable with, but I would be okay with the result if it wasn't individual. A few seconds later, it was concluded that we would be doing the last activity as a team.

I went back over to Miro, and I noticed something weird was happening to my mouse cursor. It was jittering wildly. This had happened a few times before. In a panic, I rushed to shut down my laptop before I remembered I was in class. I told Meral using my tablet that my touchpad might be damaged and that I might miss the end of AEP. She told me that she would inform Miss Disa.

After that problem had been solved, I checked around my touchpad if there had been any water. There was. A small droplet possibly from my nearby water bottle had made it's way onto my laptop. Quickly wiping it off, I continued to inspect if any more droplets had come near.

A few more minutes of checking I was able to confirm that my laptop could be switched on again. But, of course, I had missed the last minutes of AEP! Nevertheless, I still went over to Miro to complete my Exit Ticket.

And that concludes this Blog. Thank you so much for reading!

AEP this week

This week there's really nothing new, every weekday from Monday and Friday is always busy in my schedule. AEP this week we did a listening seatwork. We go to our learning contract and listen the audio from our learning contract. It was pretty easy for me.

The next day we just finish or continue the seatwork for the first period. As miss Disa was checking I told her that I have my Indonesian class. So she let me do my Indonesian class. It was pretty short so I have time to go back to AEP. And we have to do our blog about this week and how we feel about it.

The most challenging is that I have 2 school ever since the start of the school year. One is in Indonesia by online and one is in FIS in the Philippines. There wasn't any new change only that I have more lesson everyday after class, which is tiring and hard.

I feel the class in FIS is very okay. There was some hard time but I was able to overcome those hard time because there's so much homework, seatwork, and project this week. My Indonesian class isn't that hard, mostly quiz this week for my Indonesian class. I also have kumon, praying, and bimbel which is a place if you have qustion about things that you don't understand in school, you can ask in bimbel.

Thre was definetly alot of challenges this week, what I hope for this week is for everything to be done my friday my project, homework, and seatwork. And what I look forward next week is, I don't really have know what I want for next week, I guess It will just be the same week as this week, Nothing much.

Diyar Wisam Abbas Fadhil

Hi My name is Diyar and today I'm gonna talk about what we did in AEP enjoy the listening:

in AEP we did the first thing  miss Disa showed us how login and sign up and she showed us how to do blogger and we did recording voice when we did the recording voice the same time we read a story so miss can see our voice recording and if we don't know how to spell the word correctly we can make a sticky note and put the word that we don't know and she gives us a link to see and listen or without a link, she tells us the word and spell it right and correctly and we did word shake and  do a setwork and we do homework some times and we have a good grades.

thank you for listening.

Blog#3.1 gr-10 Sarah Ghayedi

Hello miss welcome to blog#3 :)

This week is just fun as last week was, but our class was having internet issues due to the weather. While miss was having a hard time on that we were doing our blogs and assessments which were done. Our class was able to talk and share ideas while miss wasn't around. This week was basically the most relaxing week for our class and the discussions were smooth and clear to us.

We always start our class by doing type shift and word shake which prepares us for the class. It's basically a warm up we have been doing for over 2 years which is exciting. After that we went to miro and reviewed last weeks topic, which are adverbs, adjectives and lines. Miss instructed us to write adverbs and adjectives we remembered from last weeks topic. I pretty much remembered most of it and wrote at least 5 of each. Next thing miss was disconnected due to the weather which is sad because the class became quiet.

I hope to see you next week miss! always stay safe and be happy:)

A Relaxed Week, Blog 3.1 Ayse

Welcome!! I'm here with another blog about AEP!

This week wasn't as full as last week since there were some internet problems going on, I'm guessing because of the weather. But it didn't turn out that bad since we had the time to chat in class when Miss Disa was gone and that was pretty fun.

We started of with typeshift as always to warm up our brain cells and get them to work. Later on we went to Miro and did a recap on wheat we have learned and done last week, which includes adverbs and adjectives to describe lines. After doing so, we continued with doing an activity where we wrote down the amount of adverbs and adjectives we remembered. Lastly Miss Disa explained the graph in a more detailed way. We sadly couldn't continue since Miss Disa got disconnected, so we started doing our blogs.

In conclusion this class was more on relaxed and fun. Hope we can do more next week!! Looking forward to learning more things about lines! This is probably one of the shortest blog's I've done, but since we didn't have much to do I don't really know what else to write.

Thank you for reading my blog!

Hello everyone! welcome back, this week I didn't accomplish accomplish a lot, on the first period my laptop crashed and it wouldn't turn on I got so annoyed 😖because before aep I had Turkish and I misread my schedule so I thought it was lunch, if it was face to face classes my friend would remind me or I would ask but when it comes to online classes you have to be responsible and not miss any class. anyways thankfully my dad helped fix my laptop  and when I return it was break time and after break time it rained heavily so MS had to rush home and get her laundry and I'm like OMGGG I was so shocked at that moment.

I am going to end my blog here because I personally don't  know what we did and sorry if its short I hope next week I will be productive and I won't have a messed up computer 😭

thank you Ms

-AEP-Janek-Blog 3 "chapter 3, A bad day doesn't mean you have a bad life"

This week of AEP was another week filled with many works that I was unaware of. Tuesday was another gruesomely suspenseful day. I sat there, In front of my laptop, waiting for that AEP feed to update.  Every time I did my other works, I would check AEP's feed from time to time. And to my surprise it was very effective, I got to see miss's announcements early.

Miss thankfully didn't add much to the feed because my homework were starting to stack up, especially in most of the minor subjects. Instead, she just added some pictures showing a group work that they completed that Tuesday.  It had something to do with family relationships, which was expected. But other than that, nothing else.

You know, the feed isn't the only thing I can use to get to know what happens in class. I can actually use blogger as well. Reading my friends blog really helps me catch up to things. Their detailing really helps with knowing what "Exactly" happened on that date, so if miss were to ever post something on Miro some of their blogs would say something like, "Miss gave an activity on Miro, we read the sticky note and we did some work" it's not exactly like that, but you get the point.

Being in online school has really been putting pressure on me. I try to find new ways to make learning and doing works quicker and more efficient, since most of the time I am occupied here. I have to move places because of my parent's work, and having to adjust to the continuous travelling makes it difficult.

Subjects with recordings especially have an effect on this. Most of the time I am out, so I have to decide to just watch the recording or do the hw. Some days or weeks this is easy when hw's/recordings aren't stacked. But, when they are, it's a nightmare. sometimes I have to exceed my bedtime by 2-3 hours. but thankfully all that stressful venturing will be put to an end on the 1st week of September. More specifically September 4th. This will stop the mass amount of stacked hw and recordings. I'll have much time to myself then.

During my free time I still try to study, so that I can get a true understanding of my lessons. I really hate being behind. You don't know what your missing until you watch a recording. So sometimes, if ever I don't feel like playing my games or going outside, I try to rewatch the video's or takes notes. Thing is, AEP doesn't have these recordings. Instead, we have a collaborative board where they get to answers questions by miss Disa. But since I have a different situation, I will be given random questions about their lessons or questions.

having a different routine from what my class normally does, I have to do these other special tasks. It's, I guess, Better in a way. I get to have a variety of different works. It makes me feel like they are all getting the usual and I get some random or unique questions. Miss Disa only does this so that I don't copy their answers through the board. But still, I find it cool.

From what I've learned, the many couple weeks and days that had many homework due was just 1 of many day's/weeks that are to come...I know the stress sounds real, but there is always hope in finishing a job if only you believe. Sure, you didn't have a good day at school. And sure, you are having problems answering your homework. But...that's just one bad day. Having a bad day is never a good thing, but don't keep that gloomy mindset. All I can say is, never make a bad day make you feel like you have a bad life. There are many days in a year which you can make better. There is many room for improvement. So, If you ever feel like you aren't doing good enough, like I did, just don't. The reason what makes you who you are is that you strive, you try, and you accomplish. Even if you may fall, you can always stand up right?

AEP has been a crazy adventure last year, but with my special routine this year, who knows what may come to me. All I know is that Me and My class are gonna make the most out of this schoolyear. We are going to try to have the most fun this year, and making a couple memories along. I can't wait for what changes AEP will bring to me in this year. You can say that this year's book could be the better sequel 👀. We will never know until this book closes ;). onward to our next chapter!

Digging deeper and diving in! (Blog#3 - Mayyasa Kazi(G10))

AEP this week wasn't as hectic as compared to last week but just as exciting and fun. We continued our journey on learning about line graphs this week. We focused on picking out the main points from the graph that we generally described last week and tried to compare the different lines on the graph and find similarities and differences between them.

As always we began the class by playing typeshift to warm up. We then reviewed everything we had learned about line graphs in the past two weeks including the adjectives and adverbs to describe lines and how to write short paragraphs on individual lines. We also played a little game to check how many adjectives and adverbs we remembered which was very fun. Finally, for the remaining part of the lesson we analyzed the graph in more depth by making notes on our comparisons of the lines on the graph. Even though, we couldn't do everything Ms. Disa had planned we still learned something and got time to chat with each other when Ms. Disa was facing internet issues which was great since I was able to get to know more about my classmates.

I think I learned from this lesson that sometimes its okay if things don't always go as planned and that its okay to take things easy and relax for a bit. As a student I feel that I've learned to finish things more quickly and also sleep early to be a bit more active in classes. Overall, this week was a calm but  informative week which allowed me to look back on the past weeks and try to improve myself. I can't wait to do all things Ms. Disa has planned for us next week and thank you for another interesting week miss!

Trip to A Busy City- Meral- AEP 8- Blog 3

Hello😊 Welcome back to another blog of mine! Before I start, I would like to expand to what I am meaning to say in the title. A Trip to A Busy City shows that this week's AEP class was filled with lots of activities and work. Not only that, but also the atmosphere pretty much seemed like one. It is a trip since it is one that you wouldn't want to pass over or miss! If you are willing to be a part of this trip, you may as well read the rest of this blog😃.

Typeshift

The Monday started with the usual Typeshift. I was hoping to get a better score than last time. Unfortunately, I had fallen a step back😞. I finished it in 2 minutes and 18 seconds. On the bright side, the result wasn't that bad and was still better than what I have expected from the experience duration of the puzzle activity😀. We wrote down our scores in the google sheets titled "AEP8 TYPESHIFT".

Entrance Ticket

Afterward, we did our entrance ticket. Miss Disa sent us a link that drove us straight to Miro. There were 3 sticky notes each containing a word📑. At the first glimpse, I thought that I had clicked the wrong link since we had already done a seatwork about this concept. In a matter of seconds, I realized the actual purpose of an entrance ticket is to remember past activities and assessments💡. Whereas an exit ticket is to write down your thoughts and feelings about the day. To get an overview, the words in the sticky notes were: friend, mate, and partner.

Miss Disa instructed the class to fill in the sticky note with the meanings of each word. In that way, Miss Disa can get to know our general idea about these words and use them as evidence that we had read the comments in the assessment in Unit 1📜. Weeks ago, I had read it and knew some details about the meaning and difference between the words. I started typing... 💬

Once everyone was done, Miss Disa gave a broad explanation. A friend is someone you know but aren't that close with and you don't hang out together as much as a mate. A mate is someone you hang out with and have a close bond together. Honestly, I was quite surprised by the difference between the words😮. I had always thought that mate was only an informal word for friend.

Moving on, Miss Disa talked about the word "partner". There are people that rather choose not to give much information about the relationship they are in. Therefore, they use the word: partner. Miss Disa also talked about gender neutrals. They are people that are unsure of their gender. This conversation gave me a better understanding about these concepts👍.

Activities and Assesments

Next, we had a matching activity. Sounds familiar? Well, yes. This was also from a previous session in AEP class. There were in total 12 words to match to their definitions. Some of the words being: widower, will, and deceased. These are words related to family and death. The activity finished alot faster than I've expected😄. Miss Disa asked each of us to read the definition of the words in order.

Miss Disa highlighted the words "inheritance and estate" by writing them into sticky notes of two shades of pink🎀. Basically, inheritance is something one gives to their loved ones when they pass away💸✉. It can come in different forms like cash, jewelry, or valuable objects. Meanwhile, estate is all the money or property given to their loved ones💰.

After all the work, we had a ten minute break✨. Following up, we moved on the next activity. There was an extract that we had to skim- read. This reminded me of Reading classes. It was one of my favorite class and it sure was one that I truly enjoyed. Miss Disa put on a 30 second timer⏲. Not goanna lie, I was quite panicked. Panic does no good in situations like these. Therefore, I started reading when there was only a few seconds left for the timer to finish😨. As you might have guessed, I couldn't finish the extract. Honestly, the extract was quite short but I was quite slow.

The time had come. We were going to write down the main details we could grasp as we had schemed through the text. Miss Disa hid it from us so that we could write down our answers without reading it one more time. Chloe and Shasmeen were going on the right track. As for me, it was as if I had read another passage🤔. I did get a thing or two about the topic but was looking at it in another perspective. The passage was a reminder that parents should treat their adult children as adults and not as kids. Luckily, Miss Disa gave everyone another try to form one sentence about the topic in another sticky note😃. This time around, I was sucessful in forming a correct explanation.

Answering the Poll Question

Moving onward, there was only one last task to complete! When Miss Disa placed the image of the page of reading extracts and questions, I was both excited and scared. Miss Disa gave us a choice on whether we wanted to work as a team or individually❓. She placed a poll in the activities section in google meet. I was not sure at all. Chloe and Shasmeen had answered the question quite quickly.

As to Miss Disa's expression and to what she said, I am guessing it was a tie. I was the one who was to make the final decision. I was still deciding on my answer. I kept switching from teamwork to individually and vice versa🔍. All of a sudden, I accidentelly clicked vote when my option was teamwork. I was shocked. Miss Disa announced that we were going to work as a team due to two out of three voting for that option. I went along with it. I have to say, I didn't regret a thing🎉!

The Final Assesment

The assesment could have taken alot longer if we had done it individually. Plus, it would have been harder for us. The teamwork was real! Everybody answered about the same amount of questions🎯. Shasmeen disappeard in the last few minutes of answering the seatwork. She messaged me to inform that her computer mouse was acting up and that she had to restart her computer. Therefore, I told Miss Disa. When we were all done, Miss Disa checked each of the questions with a tick mark✅. We got an "excellent work" stamp.

Exit Ticket

Finally, we did our exit ticket. I chose a blue sticky note since it matched the background picture which was a feather falling from the sky💫. I wrote down my thoughts and feelings about the two AEP classes of the day. Once we were both done, we each said our goodbyes to Miss Disa.

Thank you so much for reading another of my blogs! Have a great weekend✌!

Signing off - Meral

Variety -AEP- Chloe -Blog 3

Having a variety of different things in your life can make you grow stronger. Sticking to something you know well prevents you from growing. Taking chances and including new things in your world is what life's all about. And it's exactly the lesson I learned in this week's AEP class.

Logging in at 8:32 a.m., I headed over to "Typeshift" when I quickly glimpsed the announcement in our stream. I finished in a minute and ten seconds and posted it at the usual spot.

Starting the class right away, Miss Disa sent our entrance ticket link. Waiting for us there were three sticky notes each containing a word: friend, mate, and partner. Instructed to write their meanings, I grabbed a pretty, light pink post-it and began typing.

Did you know that friend and mate are actually different? A friend is someone you know a little about, but you don’t hang out with them as much as a mate does. To be honest, I didn’t really even know there was a difference until we did that activity two weeks ago.

Moving on, after we were finished, Miss Disa explained to us the different meanings of each. She grabbed her tablet and drew pink stickmen to represent their relationships.

Surprisingly, this method was very effective! I guess I’m more of a visual learner after all.

Then, Miss Disa got into a rather serious talk about partners. She explained that lots of people use this term to say they’re in a relationship with someone without giving them too much background. For instance, if a woman is married to another woman, she doesn’t have to say she has a wife if she doesn’t want to. Instead, she can say she has a partner.

The conversation got to the point where we talked about gender neutrals, people who don’t know which gender they are. I’m really familiar with this topic since some of my friends have actually come out to me.

I’m glad that she addressed this to the class. It really shows how Miss Disa thinks we’re ready to learn more about the diversity in our world.

Anyways, we moved on to the next activity with a new mindset, one much more open. It was the same task we were assigned to do two weeks ago, specifically the one where we had to match the words to their correct definitions. Wow, I am sure getting a lot of deja vu.

Once again, the board kept shifting every time someone accidentally touched it (including myself). Not to mention the straight line problem last time too; however, I did discover a line tool to help with that.  To fit the atmosphere, I also chose the same lime green color. Hopefully the luck didn't already wash off.

This time, we were a lot faster in answering. We finished in about 3 minutes and were ordered to read the answer in this order: myself, Meral, and Shasmeen. (Apparently, James has dropped out of AEP and moved to ESL class, so it'll just be us, girls, from now on.)

It was quick and short, but we went into a more in depth explanation this time. Our teacher mainly focused on estate and inheritance. They are quite similar, except for the fact that estate means everything will be bequeathed to particular people; whereas, inheritance means only a portion of the total possessions will be bequeathed to their loved ones.

Now you may be wondering what bequeath means. Until an AEP meeting, I had no clue either! It's pretty much another word that means giving. For some strange reason, one of my TV shows that I watched right after also used the word. Crazy, right? I guess it's a more common word than I thought.

After that little breakdown, we had our ten minute break. It was after this when we started completing even more tasks.

Miss Disa had posted the full definitions of estate and inheritance on the board. I got to read the inheritance sticky note, while Meral read the other.

By 9:28, that's when Miss Disa started freezing. Her voice was a bit choppy, but it cleared up eventually.

The day was packed with activities that  just kept coming and coming! The next one was an excerpt that we needed to read in thirty seconds. I speeded through, trying to grasp and soak up all the information I could.

The thirty second timer was up and we basically had to summarize the whole passage into two sentences. Our teacher hid the passage, so that there'd be no cheating. I chose a light yellow post-it notes and wrote how it was mainly about how parents should accept their kids being adults as they grow older.

Eventually, she showed us the excerpt and told us to modify our definitions to match the passage. Mine had pretty much the same concept as the text, so I just shortened it.

I have to admit that these exercises seem to be effective. They force me to speed up and enhance my summarizing skills, which can make me faster at answering homeworks, seatworks, exams, and tests in not only AEP, but in other subjects too!

Finally, Miss Disa told us that our last activity would be done as a team or individually depending on the poll she would post. I voted for "teamwork" because I figured that it would be a lot faster and more efficient. Plus, I didn't think I could finish the work all by myself in the time remaining.

I waited for the results to come in. There seemed to be one person that had voted for individual; so, it was up to the last person to decide.

Thankfully, they also picked "teamwork," which I was both thrilled and relieved to see. We all started right away, picking different questions to answer.

In total, I answered four questions. It was actually pretty fun, since I got to take my time. However, Shasmeen did disappear during the last two-three minutes, meaning I needed to answer more questions faster to make up for it.

On the positive side though, there was also some pretty cool music that gave me the feeling as if I were in an arcade game? Strange, but empowering I guess!

Me and Meral finished at the last second and finally relaxed. The last few minutes of AEP were spent in total silence while we filled out our exit tickets.

I talked about how productive I felt. We accomplished a lot that day. From activity to activity, we completed them all! Not to mention how it wasn't as stressful as last time. I chose a sticky note that resembled a bright, juicy orange, which represented my mood: happy and proud.

Recalling the lessons, learning about different kinds of people, and experiencing a variety of things were some of the things that really amazed me in this week's class. Seeing the variety in our world has opened a door to a path full of future growth. It fills me with the hope and pleasure I need to look forward to our next meeting in AEP.

Blog 1.3 Some progress

(Another drawing so my blog isn't so lifeless)

This blog may be a little short because unfortunately nothing much happened or I have just forgotten most of it (I’ll let you take a guess which one it is).

On Monday, we did type shift as usual and a little bit of Miro. We discussed what our new topic will be. It would be Present Continuous Tense.

I sound very uninspired and boring even though I literally type out this blog’s title as “some progress”. Is that some sort of clickbait or lie?

…no

…It’s real, I promise

This is the reason why I added that cute drawing because I’m not good at journaling :’)

But in all seriousness, I did made some progress in the form of Monday’s seatwork. I felt like I was completely slumped over and my brain rotted last week (I swear to god I wasn’t doing drugs- I was… uhh… I’m not sure actually. It may be a side effect from the vaccine… does that count as drugs?).

But anyways, I felt a little bit more confident this week. In all honesty, I was quite looking forward to doing something relatively productive today. Alas, Ms.Disa ended up having some technical issues and that limited our activities. Oh and also, we finished the seatwork a little early and therefore we almost did nothing.

However! We actually ended up doing something! And that was spending the whole two periods for this blog. But around 30 minutes before the class ends, we sort of just resorted to play Lexulous.

I am absolutely horrible at Scrabble (part of the reason why I’m not all that fond of Lexulous), but I had the upper hand earlier when I was playing with Ayesha. So I guess it wasn’t THAT bad. We didn’t end up finishing the game though, sadly.

And that’s it for this week. Very boring and unremarkable. I know. Hey, I almost gave up during Tuesday anyway so this should’ve been some sort of relief for me.

Though to be completely fair, I don’t particularly… feel anything about this week? It’s unremarkable and dull and we didn’t do much, but I’m neither happy nor sad about it. It’s just one of those things that sort of… happens and you learn to be numb about it.

LET’S CUT THE SOMEHOW DEPRESSING TALK, SHALL WE?

Anything I want to improve from this week? I don’t know, maybe learn to play more appropriate music during class. Other than that, nothing else.

This is very anticlimactic but yes. Thank you for reading!

Howdy everyone! I hope everyone is doing just as great as me! Today, I'm gonna share my thoughts on this week's AEP class. Before we get into it, did you know that elephants are the only mammals that cannot jump? 😙 I know it's irrelevant but that is this week's fun fact. The quote for today is, "you are the artist of your own life, don't give the paintbrush to someone else". 💁

Anyways, this week was another splendid week! We started the class with typeshift to give a good warmup for our brain. Next, we did a quick recap on adjective words that is used to describe a line graph. I got 2 points! 😅 After that, we did something different. With a line graph given by Miss Disa, instead of describing the line itself, we tried to describe the line graph as a whole. It was quite confusing at first because I'm used to describing a singular line and suddenly needs to find words and information given to describe the line graph.

I think I did a good job at that (I think...:?). Anyways, it started raining and Miss Disa had some internet problems which was unfortunate but that's okay! It's not something we should dwell on. I spent the time talking with my friends about some recommended shows and their favorite season. This is when I did a rough plan on what to write in this blog. I didn't actually followed it though..

Long story short, it was again a splendid week! I woke up really early and felt very fresh but by the end of the day, to the bed I go! hehe 😴  That's it about this week's class. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and see you again next week!! Byebye 👋

Blog 1.3 'Calming week'

Bonjour! I hope you all are having a wonderful today! Today i will once again be talking about my experiences in AEP this week! So buckle up your seatbelts and get ready for the ride!

We started this week off with the casual typeshift, then, we started on a new seatwork, where we had to fill in the gaps with verbs in the form of either present simple or present continous! It was a relaxing and silent period mostly. Then, we went on to Miro to write our exit tickets and exited the class

For today, Miss Disa is going through some technical difficulties, so, we were told to write our blogs until 9:30, which is what i am currently doing, I am also excited to see what we will do after 9:30. My guess is that we will be continuing with the present tense activities, however, we will only be having 30 minutes of class left after writing this blog, so even if we did start with the present tense, I don't think we would be able to finish it today.

That's all we did for this week, this week was a simple yet exciting week for AEP classes, Aurevoir for now!

AEP blog #1.3 "Two sides of a coin."

Hello dear reader and of course Ms Disa! Come come, grab a seat and I'll serve you the most recent experiences of yours truly~

Negativity.

Negativity.

Negativity.

What is being "negative"?
What does true disappointment feel like

Positivity.

Positivity.

Positivity.

What is being "positive"?
What does true happiness feel like.

These feelings compliment each other. To some, this feeling causes pain, and to others, it's the best feeling one can feel.

These are the two sides of a coin, two compliment each other, much like complimentary colors.
They show each other's weakness, two sides of a coin, polar opposites and viewed in an either extremely good way, or an awfully bad way.

I've met people tell me how they hate complimentary colors, and how they look muddy together. While I would hear other people tell me how they love complimentary colors, hence the word 'compliment'.

"Flip a coin, see what the answer will be."
"Is that how life works?"
"Not the process, but rather it's about what the result will be, how will you take it?"

Much like in AEP, or really any situation in life. Anything can be given two sides to look at.

The positive side, and the negative side.

Currently Ms Disa's Computer can't be used in class. In what way did she look at it? The positive way or negative way?

She took it positively and chose the next best alternative, using her tablet of course. Now, unfortunately her tablet has a lot of limitations hence its small size and other capabilities. In my class, we finished the seat work that ms told us to do last week, so we have two periods worth of blogging. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy when I heard that. I have more time to write my blog today!

Ms Disa wasn't that negative, honestly she took everything in mature- teacherly approach, thank you ms!
She told us to just do our blog until 9:30 and see what happens next. Ah yes, definitely the Ms Disa breed --of-teachers answer right here.

This is the positive side of the coin.

Now what is the negative side of the coin?

I'd like to say there isn't a negative point because we already have a positive one, but for now I'll just throw my naiveness down the river.

The negative side is that Ms Disa will sacrifice our 80 mins of learning for something that would be done within 20-40 mins, She won't be able to continue teaching us our verb tenses unfortunately.

But why focus on that?

It's not like she can't teach us the verb tenses anymore...
Remember even no matter how big or small the situation is, always try to make your mind work in a way to just not overthink about all the negative aspects of that situation.

Because once you do, its a long way back up.

I want to hold a TEd-talk someday! Okay thats unrelated, moving on.

Anyways, putting that life-lesson aside ( Fun fact: Ms Disa was the person who taught me this, back when I was still really young)

This week in AEP was full of verb tenses, Present continuous and present simple!

Its nice being able to refresh my rusty verb tenses, feels great!

Alright thats all I have in store for this week's, as always, stay safe and sane!

See you in the next one!

The experience of swimming

In my usual life when I was young an example of my day is like waking up, eating breakfast, playing Barbie with my sister, going to my school, going out for shopping or for dinner, drawing with  my colorful, going to my relatives and having fun with them (which I miss a lot) AND OF COURSE WATCHING A LOT OF CARTOONS THAT ACCTUALLY ANIME! in my whole life I thought it was cartoon until now! one of my favorites it Detective Conan! Moreover, I did not know how to swim. But one day we moved from our house and went to another place and bought a house, had a pool in it, which was a new fun experience. However, one day me and my sister wanted to go to the pool but my mom was worried and thought that we will drown. Moreover my cousin, that came from Netherlands to visit us, said that we can use flipper swimcase which made my mom a little relieved.

We were swimming in the "kid section" for a long time and if you don't know (it is really small and not deep anymore) But this time we were using flipper swimcase in the big pool. Then, we went to a course with my mom too in the summertime after school in the age 11 (I know) and were able to swim without them. Sometimes it was annoying to get us in the morning and go there because you enter the cold water in the MORNING but all I want to do is sleeping. Personally I think swimming is a fun way to enjoy yourself in the summer because it is refreshing in these hot yet sweaty months. Whatsoever, I think every single person in this world should know how to swim because it is an important hobby or thing to know because we are living on earth that is sounded with water and we need to take care about ourselves and others. This is world and we do not know what will happen anymore.

After my experience of swimming I know that I wanted to also do karate till now. I think those are the most important ones to know in this age. And because every think happens for a reason I know that swimming will help or hopefully will help me one day.

My swimming experience was so fun and enjoyable because of my course was with my mother and sister which I'm very grateful for. It was an experience that I really learn from like all other experiences in my life. But swimming have a special place in my heart.

  • ଘ(੭ ᐛ )━☆゚.*・。゚ Hello everyone welcome to my second blog!

Today in AEP class we started off with type shift which I, unfortunately, wasn't able to finish within the 5 minute time mark so I ended up having to put 'DNF' which is a shortcut for 'did not finish due to a few words I just couldn't seem to figure out and identify...

We retook the pop quiz from last class which everyone got the answer to this time so yay. we answered a sort of type of short survey that miss gave us about what we thought about the two following applications(Canvas and Storyboarder) that we were going to use for oral which I answered pretty positively to and also a question that required us to list down all the different types and forms of ways we can use the present tense which I had a ton of fun doing so hahaha...
