AEP 11 - Term 3???

Time moves so fast, it's like watching a really fast super-car pass by before you cross the road, or watching a speedboat on the lake. It's Term 3 already and soon it'll be summer again. HOW FAST WAS THAT???!!!?!? I'm still on my 'floating' phase right now and haven't realize the pain I'm gonna go through this March. Midterms, As Level Exams in April so I for sure have to do A TON of studying, Sportsfest and everything else that might come my way. I'm already stressed out but at the same time I'm feeling alright as long as I'm still 'floating' and know what I'm doing. But in reality, I'm just procrastinating and using the 'floating' phase as my comfort zone. AEP has been chill, HOWEVERRR I didn't do my poem project and that was honestly a stupid mistake. I mean, on the due date, I fell asleep and woke up at exactly the due time, which was 6pm. So then I thought like 'Ah okay, nevermind then T-T' and ended up not doing it until today bashjhfjah I'm sorry Ms.Disa.

Anyways, I'm still forever grateful that AEP allows me to zone out, chill, think about my school life (or personal life), reflect and do everything I can to escape the remaining stresses of other subjects. The game that we played today was kind of fun, me and Ayse guessed the word right and who would've thought that absdhajhfahf. Usually I just be shouting random, irrelevant words. Right now, as I'm sitting down writing this blog, not going to lie, I still feel a tad bit of pressure to get this done by 3pm but at the same time I'm having a pleasant time typing my thoughts out.

Additionally, Ms.Disa had assigned a 14 Days Challenge to help us keep track and improve our daily lives. I guess that's also another good thing that's gonna help and slowly pulling me out from 'floating' around. This can also get rid of my bad habit which is PROCRASTINATION. Yesyes, really have to get that out of my system because all I know is that habit does nothing but make me lazy and more lazy to complete tasks. Whether it be long, repetitive tasks, or the small and simple ones. I hope I can get by with that and will improve my way of living, cheers to better lifestyle!!

AEP 11- retrospective blogggg

Looking Back…

Usually looking back is when you turn your head back and you’ll see what’s going on behind you bahdbahahahah, but that’s not the case here I guess… since Ms.Disa said we have to ‘look back’ in a different way. In a ‘reminiscing’ kind of way. Looking back to Term 1, relating to what we’ve done in our classes and everything that we’ve experienced. It’s Term 2 now, and in a blink of an eye, it’ll be Term 3 and then the school year will end. It's merely fascinating how fast time can just past by.

Advanced English Program

Advanced English Program or in short term, AEP, something that was really new to me. Considering that I've never heard of such subject or anything that's similar to this kind of learning. I took this class because my bestfriend, Izzah asked me to ahjhajfahaah, because according to her, ESL is for people that speak English as a second language. As bad as it sounds, I assure you that it was the start of something good even though I had no idea what to expect or what I just put myself into. To be honest, I'm not even that good in English so ESL was considered as a good choice. First class of AEP, it was nice and breezy, we did activities and played Scrabbles together, had a few talks about the politics. I was more of a listener though. Because.... as much as I want to share something I always feel like what I'm about to say is gonna sound stupid basjdjhadha.

But anyways, that's how it always be in AEP classes, there's always some kind of really open and serene discussions right then and there. In other words, what I've been observing the whole term was that, AEP is all about bringing people together and being present. Something that I struggled to adapt to in the beginning. For instance, during this time, Ms.Disa established this rule that earphones or headphones are NOT allowed in class. So, this one time I was trying to not lose my mind over the fact that I couldn't listen to Spotify during class bsjdhajahhahahahaha, we were given like a free time to do whatever we wanted to and everyone was completing some work while I decided to complete my Business notes, so I was basically in my own world and nOT LISTENING TO MUSIC WAS KIND OF ANNOYINGGGG AND INCOMPLETE!!!! It was a whole struggle I'm telling you!!! But I promise it was just that one 'emotional' day, after that I was okay at adjusting and be more present with everybody as time goes on.

I participated more and more in games and activities like Quandle Dingle or whatever it was. Just kidding, I knew what it was, it was Wordle, Quordle and many others that end with '-dle'. These type of games were my worst enemy and still are. As I said, I'm not that bright in English so my range of vocabulary is literally the size of a rat. So most of the times I just be shouting stupid words in order to help and some would just stare at me like I just committed a crime of stupidity. Other than that, we also did mind maps based on the topics that we all voted for. The first mind map that we did was about politics, I admit this topic was overused but hey, you know what, I learned quite a LOT of things. I was excited to know more about the 'big' words used in this topic specifically because now I feel like I can understand more about the politics of the world. And the next topic was the issues facing young people. Again, quite a common and overused topic but in a way, this topic helped me grow as a person and realize what I needed to focus on as a student.

We proceed to do speeches and everyone in my class did a speech on subtopics about the issues facing young people. I guess my speech was lacking a lot of things bsjhahahajadajdajhd. I didn't prepare that much but I still pulled through with a 'half-decent' speech about 'Well-being'. After that I realize I shouldn't be talking in front of people at all because of how dull I was at public speaking. But, I shouldn't worry because I know I can grow and be more confident and make a bunch of progress ;).

That's all from meeee, signing off....

Blog 1.1- AEP virtual journal

Hey!!!! The picture really just sums up my whole month, because this is all that I've been watching, or doing. And it has nothing to do with this. (swaggggg
)

Anyways, let me just start off where I came from ;> I've never been in any International School before, but it was so easy making new friends here. As I feel comfortable enough with the environment, and the people too! I came from a public school in Malaysia, so there was no such class like AEP. Thus, this is all so new to me.

AEP class has been nothing but a major refreshment. All that we've done in this class, I considered them all to be chilly and fun! There's always something that makes us more, awake. We always do activities together as a class and I think that's a brand new experience for me to enjoy. I didn't do much activities that requires me to work together with my classmates from the school I came from. So I really do appreciate how AEP class brings people together.

However, the things I've been learning and absorbing in this class are very much hard compared to what I usually learn in my old English classes. I managed overtime though ;)

I learn new words almost every week in this class. My classmates are all VERYYY, VERYY superb at games that requires your vocab to pop off. I learn my vocabs from each one of them most of the times in class. The games that we've been playing also milked off my knowledge of vocabularies.

❤

What activities have we been doing?

Scrabble

Eghhhh, sounds really boring isn't it? But trust me, it's NOT!! It's always fun because it gets really competitive among my classmates. We would always try so hard to get points and win. We always partnered up and I somehow couldn't stay away from my seatmate, Izzah so we always get partnered up together. The very first Scrabble game we played, WE WON!!! That was really unexpected to be honest, because I'm pretty dumb when it comes to forming up words ANDDDD, we were going up against Anis, basically the MOST TALENTED Scrabble player. And she has a WIDE range of vocabularies.

Wordle

This game is legit my biggest enemy. I ABSOLUTELY HATEEE PLAYING WORDLE!! I'm very bad at guessing and coming up with words. Wordle is a game where you make up a strategy and form up words to come up with the final word, which is the answer. I SWEARRRR I never win any of these. Nevertheless, it was all fun and games. It was an activity that fries up my brain and wakes me up before class.

Others

There are a lot more other activities that we did, they're all kinda the same as Wordle but well..... I forgot all the names. In comparison, these ones are more of a teamwork as we all work together as a class and try to figure out whatever the words are. It varies from like a grouping guesses to an individual ones and it all just comes together at the end. These games are all so intuitive and build up my courage to participate in things as I always join in and help.

Miro Boards

Our Miro boards are all so pretty and it gives me a lot of endorphins watching each one of us working together(again, see I told you AEP is all about teamwork;>). Ms. Disa always gets excited watching our boards come together because according to her, it's like watching a flower bloom when we all compile something that we learned in class, all together in one simple virtual mind map. They always end up looking so colorful and nice as well as neat and put together. The topics that we based our Miro Boards are always so generally big and controversial. So we all have our own opinions on the topic and it's such a revitalizing thing to discuss these topics while learning new vocabularies.

(See, isn't that pretty? ;>)

❤ ❤ ❤

That is all from me ;> Goodbye!!
