I can't believe we've already had all of our AEP classes for this week. People are right when they say time flies by when you are having fun. In this weeks AEP class we continued with our lesson on how to describe a line graph and also created a venn diagram which has so many names(very vivacious vocabulary venn diagram, fabulously fun flowery venn diagram and the super sonic flowery bubble) that I can't even decide what to call it since all of them sound so good!
We started by playing typeshift which was an excellent warm up for my sleepy brain. Then we found synonyms and the definitions for the verbs used to describe line graphs particularly the word 'wane'. While searching up a synonym for wane I came across the word 'taper' which I found very interesting and so I decided to focus on finding more about this word. While researching I came across more interesting words like 'attenuate' and 'ebb' which were synonyms of the word 'taper.' I also decided to contribute to finding the synonyms for the word decrease and added the word 'depreciate'. I felt my vocabulary increase and I was actually able to understand their meaning even more better when I saw them connected to one another. By the time we finished the diagram I felt that it was a great visual representation of the words and due it being so colorful and interesting I feel it will stick in my memory forever. Finally, we ended our class by writing a short paragraph to describe an actual line graph from 2011 as a summary and to see how we could use the new words that we had learned in our descriptions of the lines on the graph.
As a student I feel that I have improved my skills to describe and understand something, especially line graphs which will definitely benefit me in science, business and mathematics. Personally, I feel that understanding the importance of flow when writing anything is a valuable lesson that I will always remember in the future and make sure to work on so that I can improve my writing skills since English is and will always be an integral part of our life. Making the venn diagram has also made me appreciate the importance of visual representation when it comes to learning and how it can make learning more fun and easy.
I hope to improve my flow when I'm describing a line graph or writing anything and also incorporate more of the words that I have learned into my descriptions next week. Overall, the AEP class was exciting and informative as always. I can't wait to describe more line graphs and thank you for a wonderful week miss!
I also think the venn diagram was beautiful ❤I felt so frustrated last year, but miro has really brightened up everyones learning experience.☺
