A Life of Monotony: The Same Day Over and Over

Every day, students around the world wake up to the same alarm, the same schedule, and the same daily routine. The day begins with the same breakfast, a morning routine, and a school bus ride to the same classes. It can feel like every school day is exactly the same. (These days it does)

The day drags on, the break can't come soon enough. The same evening routine, the same night time activities— nothing changed.

It's a life of tedium, where you're lost in a cycle of repetition and feel as if you're going nowhere. This can lead to feelings of hopelessness and tiredness weird enough .

This feeling of monotony can be discouraging and dull, but that doesn't have to be the case. With a little creativity, every school day can be a different day.

Days could all begin the same way: alarm clocks, breakfast, and the bus ride to school. But within those moments, there are small, unique choices we can make. Even if the day looks the same on paper, the experience can be completely different.

The key to breaking this cycle is to recognize that it exists and make the effort to break out of it. Change the daily routine, introduce something new, get on your way to experience something different. Taking the initiative to create change can make all the difference in breaking this cycle. (I will try this)

New year, new goals!! Iara's blog 2.3

Hi guys welcome to my blog...and oh boy do I have a lot to tell you this blog!

this new year I've came up with a tons of hobbies and things to achieve like getting back to my tarot videos and even stepping on new waters like creating my first game which was fun. I also went to the beach last new years, got new headphones, decorated the headphones with really cute new stickers, and got a new corgi of whom I named by my favorite Nintendo character, Kirby!

I also started learning Japanese and already finished my hiragana and katakana and am learning my way through N5 vocabulary and Kanji which I have to say that I am having tons of fun with! can't wait to work with my dreams there when I get older... m a y b e?? i don't know but it'd be nice haha

I also began meditating and reprogramming my mind more to really get in more touch with myself as a person and soul and it's been nice actually. I got in touch with who I really want to become and the kind of happy ever after that I want for myself and started working on getting that kind of lifestyle, even on the kind of person I want to spend my lifetime with hehe! It's really fun to get to know more about your ideals...hope I can achieve that :)

Myles' blog 2.3

This term we've worked on a lot. An interesting addition was to plan future assessments, each lesson we always do a little warm up our brains and to train our vocabulary, we always play some sort of Wordle game; Quordle, Dourdle, etc.

we recently started taking on essays head-on instead of procrastinating, "instead of hating essays and procrastinating them you should be excited to get better at them" i don't remember exactly what Ms Disa said but it's something along those lines. Ms Disa gives us a decision for what we want to do for the day, for example we had a choice to work on our blogs the same one i'm writing now or the painful essay, it's nice to have options.

The class is very lively especially during the games we play at the start of the lesson, everyone is usually screaming and the classroom is filled with joy, it's interesting cause you might think screaming is a bad thing but in Ms Disa's class it's a good thing. The classroom can be lively and calm other times as Ms Disa is always playing calming classical and lofi music.

Always looking forward to each class as we learn a lot on writing and vocabulary while it being fun and exciting at the same time, i just recently joined face to face classes and it's safe to say that it's much much better than sitting online. Excited to see what the other terms have to offer.

Thanks Ms Disa.

Blog term 2 18/1/2023 Fahad imran grade 10

After the midterms, we made significant changes to our schedule. For this half of the term in aep, miss made us make our own planner for aep in which we had to decide what we were gonna do in each class of aep, such as doing the blog in 1 class and doing an essay in the next lesson.

This term we did a lot in aep such as doing essays, different wordle games and writing blogs, I preferably somehow enjoyed writing essays since it felt easier to do, you just had to look at the map and write changes that appeared, but the hard part was to think of more complex words to write. Just say you wanted to write the word ''Bulided or made''.Those words aren't so bad but in aep miss disa always tells us to write more complex words to improve our vocabulary, I find it rather challenging since you spend half of the time looking for synonyms for the words and the other half trying to figure out if it suits your essay. In the end, it's you're vocabulary that improves and you have to give all the credit to miss disa for that.

We tried out all sorts of different wordle games such as qourdle, deluxe, and waffle. These games are sort of a headache but fun at the time if you what you're doing. I wasn't much of a help in these games other than helping everyone stare at the board haha but I always tried my best. Board games aren't really for me since my brain decides to leave my body whenever its time for a game, but I try my best to make my brain not leave my body and to help my classmates

Our class likes to procrastinate a lot and delay every single essay and blog we can, but miraculously we decided to not procrastinate and actually get our work done, it doesn't seem like a lot but it's a big achievement for our class and at the end, small progress always matters!.

Thank you for reading!

Blog 2.3 - New year, not much changes?

(have a meme drawing of me and my partner)

Happy new years! 18 days late. This New Year didn't really allow me to make any changes in my life. I definitely have things I want to improve. Plenty of them. But I find that writing it down as a goal is just worrisome and makes it less likely for me to actually fulfill them as my brain will  start labelling them as "tasks to finish."

The point is: No resolutions this year. No resolutions the past year either. I'd rather work on my own flaws and mistakes at my own pace without making it a sort of responsibility to fix.

Not much changes this year then? Not any, really. It's just that it's January and the year in my calendar is now 2023. My daily routine isn't any different. My studies didn't change. I used to be so excited for New Years and I'd always stay up with my parents to wait for the countdown but now, I realize that the change of night between December 31 and January 1 isn't any different than the change of night on every other day. Save for the barbecue and fireworks, I guess. But I'm not partial to loud parties anyway.

How about school? What have we done in AEP so far? Well, the first week of classes, we spent our time writing a planner for the rest of this half-term. It was nice to organize the lessons and sessions. I made the whole color scheme rainbow and I was flabbergasted when I found out Fahad doesn't know the order of the rainbow (Is he colorblind???). The second week was when we started to follow through with the planner. We started reviewing our essays from the last half-term and the whole topic of maps as a whole. We looked through the vocabulary, different points in the maps, the questions, etc. It was nice to review. It was a nice way to start adapting back into learning.

And then this week, we went on to writing another map essay at the first session of the week on Tuesday. It was alright. I wasn't stoked to start writing it but I didn't have a horrible time either. I guess it all just comes down to the fact that I like writing essays about maps more than graphs. Graphs are too restricting and too vague. I'm partial to pictures and visuals, after all. And now, for the two sessions of Wednesday, we're now writing the blogs. Not very extraordinary or exciting there.

But hey, as I said, not much change from this New Years. And honestly, it's not that bad. I don't usually do well with adapting and new changes, so this mundane routine, though tiring, is much better than a spontaneous one with new arrivals and challenges. I'm still fixing the same old flaws and striving for the same things. Things are bound to change of course, but I like to take things slowly and not jump into change harshly.

Anyways, this has been my blog for January 18 of the new year 2023.

Thank you for reading!

Blog 2.3 | "farting may be natural, but so is being eaten by a hippopotamus" -me

So far in this year of AEP, we've done quite a bit. In my opinion, I think that the most interesting part was actually planning out how we're gonna do future AEP classes. As always, every morning we do a little word game, either wordle, quordle, or something that ends in "dle".

Again the part that I found most interesting and also enjoyed the most was planning out how we're going to spend the next AEP classes. We started that period with a word game of course, and then we started planning. We first looked if we would lose any lessons because of holidays, and after that, we started assigning and deciding what we would do in each of the remaining classes. Once we were done with that we had a beautiful board with exactly what we would, remembering to leave the last week empty for finals of course, and we were ready. Then the schedule changed so the plan was all off, but a simple fix was done to just shift the dates of some stuff around.

The word games are pretty good now, I didn't really understand the hype around it, but now I see. It's so much fun looking at a jumble of coloured words and guessing what word it is, the best part is probably when you have some of the word in green and then you start telling the boardmaster which letters go where and the word becomes greener and greener until it's correct. Out of all the word games that we've done I think my favourite is waffle wordle because it's the most challenging, it also has the most words which gives me a better chance at finding a word that I know. For example, wordle, the original NYT one, only has one word to guess while waffle wordle has eight.

To conclude, Ms Disa tries to accommodate our schedules like science projects and finals while also maximising our time in AEP. although, we have to do an AEP project so I'm hoping it will be origami.

Alisa’s Blog - Term 2 Jan 18 2023

First blog of 2023! Happy New Year everyone! After reflecting on some of my exit tickets for AEP in our padlet site, I noticed that many of the lessons we had this term consisted of essay-writing and reviewing. Honestly, thinking about the first day of my AEP class and now, I think I’ve improved a lot on my vocabulary and knowledge of IELTS essays!

Other than that, the class is definitely bigger than when I first arrived. We have one new student, and two who were previously online joining face-to-face! I’m glad they’re able to join us on campus this term. Speaking of new arrivals, we also have a new plant with us now — Alice! Alice’s leaves are different to Alan’s. I’m not sure about their exact species but they are definitely unique in their own ways. Unfortunately, Alan isn’t with us anymore (no, he’s not dead!). He were getting a lot bigger so the teacher had to take him back home with her. We’ll surely miss him. :(

Anyway, I love how every one of our AEP classes start with a ‘dle’ game! At first, I thought it was something that was going to happen temporarily, but as time passed on, each one of our lessons always started with a game like wordle, quordle, antiwordle, and a lot more. It’s probably one of the best warm-ups a teacher could choose because it really gets my brain going.

Other than that, I’m really looking forward to this year’s AEP classes! Albeit I have the slightest possibility of leaving the Philippines this year, it won’t distract me from the fact that AEP is still one of the most relaxing and chillest class I could have. Thank you miss for always knowing how to engage everyone! :DD
